Citizen Safety Institue (CSI) was the first National American Heart Association (AHA) training organization. In 1993 the National Journal Emergency Medical Services published how CSI's Citizen CPR program produced 200% better learning and retention in 1 hour compared to the AHA and the American Red Cross. OSHA endorsed Citizen CPR for all corporate learning as it taught more, in less time. Citizen First Aid was added Nationally in 1994. Franchises were sold in every state until 1998. As the CSI Business Opportunity became more profiable with less governmental regulations, CSI is now in every major city and growing.
